The Journey of Our Founder

Our Founder, Mr Ngu was born in 1957 in Sibu, Sarawak as the sixth child in a low income household. Despite this, he nurtured ambitious aspirations and unwavering beliefs, gradually overcoming numerous obstacles along the way. Starting as an ice cream seller, he evolved into a successful entrepreneur with various businesses across East Malaysia. At the age of 10, he initiated his entrepreneurial journey by selling ice cream after school, expanding his journey to include vegetables and fruits by the age of 18. Through adept mastery of communication and business skills, he ascended from owning a small grocery store to founding the Emart Group we recognize today.

Even today, Mr. Ngu remains committed to a noble mission, dedicating himself to making positive contributions to our families, corporations, and society through various philanthropic initiatives. Actively engaged in social service activities, particularly within the sphere of education and training, he firmly believes in the transformative power of education and self-improvement. Mr. Ngu envisions a society where everyone can enhance their quality of life, fostering peace and prosperity for all.

In 2013, Mr. Ngu initiated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Emart Group, marking the beginning of a steadfast commitment to enriching the socio-economic landscape of diverse communities, irrespective of their ethnicity or creed. Over the years, Emart Group has led numerous Youth Leadership Camps in schools and allocated land for the construction of public facilities like schools and places of worship, exemplifying its dedication to giving back to the community.

Emart Group remains resolute in its commitment to nurturing youth development and corporate sustainability. Through an expanded array of programs such as Youth Leadership Camps, Team Building Programs, Backbone Programs, and diverse initiatives, we aim to impart vital skills, offer mentorship, and cultivate robust leadership qualities among our employees and the youth of Malaysia.
